WhatsApp Continues to Evolve with New Features to Enhance User Experience
WhatsApp is rolling out new features to improve the user experience. From transcribing voice messages to multi-account management on iPhone and adding music to status updates, here's an overview of the latest enhancements being deployed.
Transcription of Voice Messages
Tired of listening to long voice messages? WhatsApp now offers a transcription option to read them instead of listening. To activate:
- Access Settings (three-dot icon)
- Go to Chats or search for "voice"
- Enable Transcribe Voice Messages and choose the display language.
Multi-Account Management on iPhone
Already available on Android since 2023, multi-account management is coming soon to iPhone. This feature, currently in beta, will allow users to manage multiple accounts on the same device, with separate notifications and settings.
Creating Events in Groups
WhatsApp is deploying an Event feature, enabling users to organize and share meetings directly within group chats. Members can view details, respond, and receive reminders. Additionally, WhatsApp is testing the addition of images to polls to make them more engaging.
Adding Music to Status Updates
In testing, this new feature will allow users to integrate songs from Meta's music library, similar to Instagram. Status updates will display the song title and artist, with a direct link to their Instagram profile.
Access to Ephemeral Media on iOS
WhatsApp is testing the display of files sent in "View Once" mode on linked iOS devices. Until now, this feature was limited to the primary device, but this update will align iOS with Android, enabling users to view this content on multiple devices, including computers.
Note: The app has also joined Meta's Accounts Space.
