Warning to Job Seekers Abroad: Beware of Fraudulent Recruitment Agencies

The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training is warning job seekers looking to work abroad to beware of fraudulent operations targeting those seeking employment outside of the country.

These scams are carried out by illegal recruitment agencies promising foreign work contracts, accommodation services, and other benefits in exchange for large sums of money.

The Ministry urges job seekers to avoid dealing with these illegal entities and to only work with foreign recruitment agencies that have obtained legal authorization to operate on the international job market. The Ministry ensures the monitoring and evaluation of these authorized agencies.

The Ministry reminds job seekers that the services of authorized foreign recruitment agencies are free of charge, as per regulations prohibiting any billing. An updated list of these authorized agencies is available on the official website.

Only the ANETI, the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT), and the 60 authorized private agencies are legally allowed to intervene in foreign recruitment, with the obligation to provide free services.

Note that the Ministry is also working to strengthen international cooperation agreements and plans to provide an additional 2,000 contracts in Italy in the construction and public works sector over the next three years.
