Government Committee Adopts Key Measures to Unlock Strategic Projects
During a meeting held on January 15, 2025, the Committee of Major Projects adopted a set of decisive measures to unlock situations and energize strategic projects, according to a publication on the government's Facebook page.
Among the flagship decisions of this meeting, the imminent launch of the reconstruction of the El Menzah Olympic Stadium stands out. This iconic sports infrastructure will be brought up to international standards, responding to a strong demand from Tunisian athletes and fans.
In the health sector, the government approved the reconstruction of the Hédi-Chaker University Hospital in Sfax and the completion of the Bir Ali Ben Khalifa Regional Hospital. These major investments aim to improve access to quality care for populations in these regions.
Economic and regional development were not left behind. The project to create a production market platform in the center of the country was approved, with the goal of modernizing agricultural product distribution circuits and strengthening food security. Furthermore, the government decided to accelerate the development of the red meat sector by rehabilitating existing slaughterhouses and commissioning new infrastructure, such as the Ben Guerdane red meat complex.
The government reiterated its commitment to sustainable development by deciding to connect the Ben Guerdane free zone to the recently built wastewater treatment station. This measure will contribute to preserving the environment and improving the living conditions of local populations.
