Trump Signs Series of Executive Orders, Fulfilling Campaign Promises

Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders upon taking office, marking the beginning of his term with a series of decisions that fulfill his campaign promises.

Firstly, he proclaimed that "all illegal entries will be immediately stopped" and announced the deployment of troops to the southern border to counter what he calls a "disastrous invasion". An executive order was signed to declare a state of emergency at the border with Mexico. At the same time, he suspended the asylum application platform launched by the Biden administration, directly attacking the right to asylum.

In the climate domain, Trump signed an executive order ending the United States' participation in the Paris Agreement. This withdrawal marks a return to his climate-skeptical policy initiated during his previous term and puts global efforts to limit climate warming at risk.

Trump also reacted to criticism from the World Health Organization (WHO) by signing an executive order to withdraw the United States from the organization, arguing that the WHO mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic and pointing out an imbalance between American and Chinese financial contributions.

Furthermore, Trump signed an executive order canceling diversity and inclusion programs within the federal government and proclaimed that the only recognized sexes would be limited to the categories "male" and "female", excluding transgender identities. This decision fulfills his promise to end the "transgender delusion", prohibiting the use of federal funds to promote gender ideology.

Other measures included the pardon of over 1,500 participants in the January 6, 2021, Capitol assault, the lifting of the ban on the TikTok app, and the reintegration of Cuba into the list of states supporting terrorism. Trump also reiterated his intention to recover the Panama Canal and strengthen customs duties to enrich the American economy.

Finally, the American president confirmed his intention to impose 25% tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico, effective February 1.
