Ministry of Agriculture Launches Olive Oil Storage Program
The Ministry of Agriculture has launched a program to store olive oil with private companies, aiming to facilitate the harvesting and processing of olive oil production. This initiative seeks to support farmers, olive mill owners, and exporters in a context of high yields.
As part of this program, a premium of 100 dinars per ton will be awarded each month for storage, and an additional premium of 10 dinars per month will be reserved for farmers. These premiums will be paid at the end of the three-month storage period.
These measures complement the decisions made on November 6, 2024, regarding the purchase of olive oil quantities by the National Olive Oil Office and the extension of repayment deadlines for seasonal loans to farmers and olive mill owners.
In the cereal sector, the Ministry continues to supply producers with selected seeds, including durum wheat, for this season. A monitoring cell, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, has been set up to guide seed distribution and combat monopolies.
