Cettex and GIZ Tunisia Sign Agreement to Boost Textile Sector Competitiveness

A convention was signed on Monday, October 21, between the Technical Center for Textiles (Cettex) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Tunisia) to create new services for textile sector enterprises.

This agreement aims to support the activities of the center and accompany industrial textile and clothing companies, as part of the "CQE" program, supported by the European Union. This initiative marks the first convention signed under this program, which focuses on qualitative employment growth.

The convention was signed by the General Director of Cettex and the CQE Project Manager, in the presence of several representatives, including the Head of the Private Sector Network for Financial Sector Promotion at GIZ Tunisia and the Responsible for the Industrial Competitiveness and Export Project "PACE".

The objective of this agreement is to introduce new technical services in coordination with the FTTH, in line with the industrial and innovation strategy by 2035, while taking into account global developments in the sector.

The services offered include:

  • Technical support for obtaining ISO 50001 certification
  • Calculation of the carbon footprint of companies and their products
  • Accompaniment in integrating the circular economy
  • Support for STEP by OEKOTEX certification
  • Realization of new technical and metrological analyses for technical products
  • Creation of an industrial intelligence and monitoring cell in partnership with local actors

These services will enhance the competitiveness of industrial companies by improving their quality, while attracting foreign investments thanks to modern infrastructure.

Finally, this convention will also position Cettex as a reference center at the national and international levels.
