Central Bank of Tunisia Announces Official Launch of Electronic Check Platform, "TuniChèque"

The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has officially announced the launch of "TuniChèque", a new electronic check platform aimed at modernizing the payment system in Tunisia. This project aims to secure and digitize check transactions, improving transparency, accelerating payment processing, and reducing risks associated with bounced checks. It is part of a financial inclusion dynamic, offering alternative solutions such as electronic payment cards and mobile payments for those without a checkbook. Participating banks also provide customer follow-up with assistance teams and a dedicated call center.

The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has published the list of banks and financial institutions that have joined the TuniChèque electronic platform, as per Circular No. 2025-04 dated February 3, 2025. The participating establishments are:

Following the implementation of the Tunisian Post's D17 application, TuniChèque marks a second step in the digitalization of monetary services in Tunisia. We hope that this progress can also be extended to sectors such as transportation and healthcare.
