Tunisia Ranks 73rd in the Henley Passport Index
According to the April 2024 update of the Henley Passport Index, the Tunisian passport ranks 73rd globally, tied with Moroccan and Zambian passports. Holders of this passport can now travel visa-free to 71 countries, marking a three-place improvement from the previous year when Tunisia ranked 76th.
In the Maghreb region, Tunisian and Moroccan passports share the top spot, followed by Mauritania, which ranks 84th globally with 59 destinations, and Algeria, which occupies the 87th position with 56 destinations. Libya ranks last in the region, 101st globally, offering visa-free access to 40 countries.
In the Arab world, the United Arab Emirates passport dominates the regional ranking, rising to 11th place globally, allowing its citizens to travel visa-free to 184 countries.
At the top of the global ranking, passports from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, and Singapore offer visa-free access to 194 destinations.
The Henley Passport Index evaluates the international travel freedom of passport holders by assigning scores based on visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to various destinations. This index relies on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and serves as an essential reference for international travelers.
