Egypt Awards 5G Licenses to Vodafone, Orange, and Etisalat for $525 Million
On October 7, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) granted 5G licenses to Vodafone, Orange, and Etisalat, totaling $525 million.
These licenses will enable operators to offer advanced connectivity services for 15 years, joining Telecom Egypt, which obtained the first 5G license in January for $150 million.
The deployment of 5G responds to a growing demand for connectivity, with an 8.46% increase in internet users in Egypt over the past year, reaching 83.07 million in July 2024.
This development supports the national strategy "Digital Egypt 2030", aiming to modernize the country's telecom infrastructure and stimulate its digital economy.
