Vivo Energy Announces Completion of Acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan
Vivo Energy is pleased to announce the completion of the transaction to acquire 100% of the shares of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan.
Introduction to Vivo Energy
Vivo Energy, the leading energy distribution company in Africa, operating approximately 4,200 service stations across 29 markets, has finalized the acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, including its network of around 180 service stations and its commercial fuels and lubricants business.
Introduction of the Engen Brand in Jordan
This acquisition marks the introduction of the Engen brand in Jordan. Now present in 13 Vivo Energy markets, Engen is Vivo Energy's owned retail brand, recognized for the quality of its products and services. It is also the number one fuel brand in South Africa, where its network of over 1,000 service stations sells one in every four liters of fuel sold in the country. In the coming months, the Engen brand will gradually replace TotalEnergies on service station signs in Jordan.
Completion of the Transaction
Since the announcement of the transaction in November 2025, all parties have worked closely to obtain the necessary regulatory approvals and fulfill the conditions precedent, which are now fully met.
Comments from Vivo Energy's CEO
Commenting on the transaction, Stan Mittelman, CEO of Vivo Energy, said: "This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Vivo Energy as we enter Jordan, our first market outside of Africa. Jordan has strong fundamentals and is led by a team that we hold in high esteem. Vivo Energy and our retail brand Engen share African values of customer service and community engagement, which we are convinced will resonate in Jordan. We look forward to contributing to the development of this market in the years to come."
Comments from Vivo Energy Jordan's Managing Director
Adel Saadallah, the new Managing Director of Vivo Energy Jordan, added: "I am extremely proud to have been appointed to lead Vivo Energy's operations in Jordan as we enter this new market. I have been part of Vivo Energy since its inception and have seen firsthand how our model builds strong and sustainable businesses."
Vivo Energy's Success Model
Vivo Energy's success is based on autonomous local management teams that can effectively respond to the needs of customers and stakeholders, a model that the company also intends to implement in Jordan.
Conclusion
Saadallah concluded: "This announcement marks a change in ownership, but employees, distributor contracts, and customer relationships remain unchanged. My priority will be to work alongside the existing teams to build on their successes and ensure a smooth transition for all. 2026 is an exceptional year for Jordan: the Kingdom is celebrating 80 years of independence and the national team's first-ever qualification for the World Cup. We will echo this pride in our programs, putting Jordan and Jordanians at the heart of our priorities."
