Tunisia to Host Logistics Platform for Electronic Components
Tunisia is set to welcome a logistics platform dedicated to electronic components, the result of a project under discussion between the Ministry of Industry and the American group Arrow Electronics, a world leader in the distribution of technological solutions.
The Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, received a delegation from the group, led by Mike Heljula, General Manager of the European division, at the ministry's headquarters on Wednesday, September 10.
Discussions and Objectives
The discussions focused on creating a logistics platform for electronic components, aimed at facilitating the supply of Tunisian industrial companies and strengthening the sector's competitiveness. The exchanges also covered the next steps to simplify administrative procedures and highlight the benefits offered by Tunisia to fully exporting companies, particularly in the electronics industry.
Project Impact and Potential
The minister emphasized that this project could boost a sector that already has nearly 75 active companies, generating over 24,000 jobs and achieving a production value of over 4.8 billion dinars in 2024. She stressed the importance of consolidating Tunisia's position as an advanced industrial hub in this strategic domain.
