Union Members Commit to Upholding Rules and Request New Conference Date

Members of the National Union of Building and Public Works Enterprises reaffirmed their commitment to respecting the Union's rules, particularly regarding the duration of mandates and the renewal of officials, during a general assembly held on Tuesday, May 14, at the UTICA headquarters in Tunis's El Khadhra district.

The members also urged the National Council to set a new date for the 17th Union conference as soon as possible to strengthen the organization's credibility. Furthermore, they called on the Union's structures to continue managing current affairs without disrupting its future functioning.

This development comes amidst the expiration of officials' mandates at all levels and the delay in setting a date for the 17th conference, which was initially scheduled for January 2023. After reviewing the conclusions of two consultations conducted by a national chamber and another entity, the members found no legitimate reason for the delay and raised the possibility of a violation of fundamental rules governing the management of public funds, both internally and externally.
