UNESCO Announces 15th Call for Proposals for the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD)
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is launching the 15th call for proposals for the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).
Eligible Projects Proposed projects must aim to:
- Implement and/or develop policies that significantly influence the creation, production, distribution, and access to a diverse range of cultural goods and services.
- Strengthen institutional capacities, both public and civil society, to support sustainable local and regional cultural industries and markets.
Who Can Apply? Public institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from eligible countries, as well as international NGOs registered in countries that are parties to the 2005 Convention, are invited to submit their projects. The deadline for submissions is June 14, 2024, at 12:00 PM Paris time. Applications can be submitted through this link.
Background Since its creation in 2010, the IFCD has invested over $11.5 million in 152 projects across 71 developing countries. These initiatives have contributed to the development of cultural policies, professional training, and cultural entrepreneurship, as well as the opening of new markets and social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
