Algerian Exporters to Benefit from 50% Reduction in Transport Costs
Algerian exporters are set to benefit from a 50% reduction in transport costs to foreign markets, thanks to an initiative by the Export Promotion Fund, as outlined in the 2024 Finance Law. This measure follows the signing of four agreements during the International Transport and Logistics Fair in Oran.
These agreements between the General Directorate of External Trade and four public sector transport companies aim to simplify export operations and facilitate compensation related to transportation. The partners involved include:
- Compagnie Nationale Algérienne de Navigation (CNAN) Algérie for maritime transport
- Air Algérie's freight subsidiary for air transport
- Logitrans for land transport of goods
- Gatma, the Algerian maritime transport group
This initiative is expected to significantly reduce the financial burden on Algerian exporters, making their products more competitive in international markets.
