South African President Signs New Land Transport Law

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed a new land transport law, according to EcoFin agency. This law aims to reorganize carpooling services in the country.

From now on, carpooling companies no longer need permits or taxi licenses. A new category of accreditations has been created.

It's worth remembering that carpooling has several advantages. It reduces traffic congestion by decreasing the number of vehicles on the roads. This also allows for cost savings. At the same time, drivers see their parking, fuel, and maintenance costs decrease. On the other hand, passengers pay less for their trips.

Carpooling is also beneficial for the environment. Fewer cars mean less fuel consumption and fewer greenhouse gas emissions. This improves air quality and our health.

This initiative by South Africa could inspire other countries, such as Tunisia. By following this example, Tunisia could also benefit from the economic, environmental, and social advantages of carpooling.
