Algerian Government Establishes National Cybersecurity School
The Algerian government has announced the creation of a National Higher School of Cybersecurity in Algiers (Sidi Abdellah). This initiative aims to position Algeria as a key player in cybersecurity, addressing the growing threats in the African and Algerian cyberspace.
Mission and Objectives
According to a presidential decree, the school, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will focus on:
- Providing higher education and research in cybersecurity
- Developing technological innovations
- Training engineers and doctors with specialized scientific and technical skills, enabling them to work in development or teaching positions in the field of cybersecurity
Collaboration and Infrastructure
In collaboration with the Information Systems Security Agency, the school will provide students with access to its infrastructure and resources, aiming to contribute to the reinforcement of national information systems security. This partnership will also promote the development of science and technology in the field of cybersecurity.
