Tunisia to Establish Direct Air Link with Czech Republic to Boost Tourism
The Minister of Tourism, Soufiane Tekaya, has announced plans to establish a direct air link between Tunisia and the Czech Republic. This initiative, discussed during his meeting with Czech Ambassador Richard Kadlčák on March 10, 2025, aims to boost tourism between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Minister highlighted that this direct connection would facilitate access for Czech tourists to Tunisian destinations, particularly Tozeur and Tabarka, known for their varied landscapes and diverse tourist offerings. He emphasized the importance of promoting tourism beyond traditional beach resorts, by valorizing ecotourism and Saharan tourism.
Strengthened Tourism Partnership
Beyond this initiative, the meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation in the artisanal industries sector. The Minister underscored the interest in exchanging know-how in glass, ceramic, and pottery production, while encouraging a stronger Tunisian presence in international trade fairs.
Tunisia will participate in the 33rd edition of the Holiday World & Region World trade fair, to be held in Prague from March 14 to 16, 2025. This strategic opportunity will consolidate ties between tourism professionals from both countries and attract more Czech visitors to Tunisia.
