New Framework Agreement Signed for Digital Geography, Remote Sensing, and Related Technologies

A new framework agreement concerning digital geography, remote sensing, and related technologies was signed on Monday, June 10, 2024, between the National Heritage Institute (INP) and the National Center for Cartography and Remote Sensing (Cnct).

According to the press release published on the INP's website, this collaboration aims to develop applications and systems for digital geography, including the establishment of a web-accessible geographic information system. This system will serve as a platform for the national map of archaeological sites and historical monuments.

The second axis of the agreement focuses on supporting the implementation of national development and strategic programs, as well as research projects dedicated to the conservation of heritage, the promotion of historical monuments, and the valorization of cultural heritage.

Finally, training and expertise transfer are planned for INP executives in the field of digital geography.
