Launch of the "Compulsory Information" Web Application and Closure of the Project to Establish a Compulsory Information Mechanism in Tunisia

The launch of the "Compulsory Information" web application and the closure of the project to establish a compulsory information mechanism in Tunisia took place on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Customs in the North Urban Center.

This event brought together key figures, including:

  • Mrs. Lamia ABROUG, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Trade and Export Development
  • Mr. Mohamed Hedi SAFER, Director General of Customs
  • Senior officials from the Ministry and the General Directorate of Customs
  • Mrs. Amal Mghirbi, Team Leader of the Project to Support Commercial Agreements with Africa (AACA)

The workshop aimed to mark the launch of the "Compulsory Information" web application, an essential tool for economic operators, and to highlight the project's achievements.

During the workshop, participants discovered the project's results, which are structured around four main pillars:

  1. Technical Support: Assistance in legal, procedural, and organizational areas
  2. Capacity Building: Training of customs officials in collaboration with the OMD-UE program
  3. Awareness: Targeted actions for Tunisian economic operators
  4. Digitalization: Development of an innovative web application to manage the entire process, from submitting requests to issuing compulsory information

A live demonstration of the application's use was conducted, showcasing its simplicity and effectiveness for users, as well as its impact on the digitalization and modernization of Tunisian customs services.

These activities were organized as part of the project "Establishing a Compulsory Information Mechanism at the Customs Level" within the framework of the "Support to Commercial Agreements with Africa" project, in partnership with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation (GATF) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Export Development and the General Directorate of Customs.
