ABO Energy's Ingenious Project
The ingenious 75 MW wind farm project in Bizerte, initiated and promoted by ABO Energy Tunisia, has just reached a decisive stage. A recent working session at the governorate, under the presidency of Governor Salem Ben Yaacoub, clarified and emphasized the ambitions and expected benefits. According to ABO Energy representatives, this capacity will enable the production of the equivalent of the electrical consumption of around 75,000 inhabitants, representing a direct impact on the local energy fabric.
Investment and Benefits
The initial investment is estimated at 270 million dinars, a substantial sum justified by the long-term economic and environmental benefits. This investment amount clearly reflects the importance attached to the propulsion of a safe and well-founded energy future. Beyond energy production, the project is designed as a lever for local development: construction and operation should generate direct and indirect jobs and contribute to improving the region's infrastructure. The Governor of Bizerte reaffirmed the total support of the regional authorities, while emphasizing the strict respect of regulatory frameworks and smooth coordination between all key stakeholders to ensure the project's success, both environmentally and economically.

This initiative is part of a broader and more ambitious vision: it is fully aligned with national orientations aiming to increase the share of renewable energies to 35% of the Tunisian energy mix by 2030. ABO Energy Tunisia's involvement is not insignificant: as a subsidiary of a German group, the company has been active since 2018 in the development of wind, solar, and storage projects in Tunisia.
