Government Meeting Focuses on Facilitating Electronic Visa Issuance for Foreigners
The Head of Government, Ahmed Hachani, chaired a restricted ministerial meeting at La Kasbah to discuss the facilitation of electronic visa issuance for foreigners. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of digitizing administrative services, a priority of the state's policy, and highlighted that the electronic visa project is part of the strategic plan "Tunisia Digital 2025".
Streamlining Visa Applications
Once implemented, the automated system will facilitate the processing of visa applications for foreigners wishing to visit the country through a specially designed electronic platform. This will significantly simplify the visa acquisition process and reduce the processing time for foreign applicants. Additionally, this initiative will contribute to enhancing Tunisia's international image and promoting economic and cultural cooperation with other countries.
Facilitating Entry for Iraqi and Iranian Tourists
The meeting also addressed measures to facilitate the entry of Iraqi and Iranian tourists into Tunisia, aiming to boost economic cooperation and explore new tourism opportunities. The decisions made during these exchanges will be announced soon by the concerned ministries.
Inspiration from Morocco's eVisa System
For example, the Kingdom of Morocco launched its electronic visa "eVisa" procedure on July 10, 2022.
