Tunisian Artisanal Market in Lecce, Italy
A Celebration of Traditional Crafts and Creativity From Saturday, October 19, 2025, to October 26, 2025, the Mazzini Square in Lecce, Italy, will host a mobile market dedicated to Tunisian craftsmanship. This event is organized by the Tunisian National Office of Craftsmanship (Onat) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as part of the "Creative Tunisia" project.
Showcasing Tunisian Artisanal Richness
The market features nearly 20 Tunisian artisans presenting a wide range of creations, including:
- Woven baskets made from natural fibers
- Colorful ceramics
- Olive wood plates
- Traditional foutas (Tunisian towels)
- Hand-woven textiles
- Decorative objects
Visitors can discover these unique products and also attend live demonstrations, allowing for an immersive experience into the ancestral artisanal techniques.
The "Creative Tunisia" Project
Funded by the European Union and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) through the Tounes Wijhetouna program, the "Creative Tunisia" project aims to:
- Strengthen the value chains of craftsmanship and design in Tunisia
- Enhance the quality of products
- Facilitate access to national and international markets
