The Minister of Trade and Export Development, Samir Abid, received a delegation from the Chinese group Wuhan Yangluo Port Services on Saturday, December 13, 2025, as part of a working visit to Tunisia.

Objective of the Meeting

The meeting aimed to identify concrete opportunities for trade cooperation and investment, while accelerating their implementation on the ground. At the heart of the discussions, the Chinese delegation's interest in high-value-added Tunisian products was particularly highlighted.

Priority Products

Tunisian olive oil and dates, symbols of the country's agricultural expertise and highly prized on international markets, were put forward as priority areas for promotion. According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting, which was attended by officials from institutions under its supervision, also focused on the development of investment projects that meet international standards, particularly in the areas of logistics and modernization of public infrastructure.

Partnership and Technology Transfer

The Chinese group expressed its willingness to establish medium-term partnerships focused on technology transfer and the integration of modern expertise. For his part, Minister Samir Abid emphasized the need for a clear roadmap to quickly materialize these projects, while recalling Tunisia's strategic role as a gateway to African markets.

Background

Wuhan Yangluo Port Services, a public company specializing in international trade, logistics, and investment, had already shown strong interest in the Tunisian market last July, confirming its availability to support local institutions both logistically and financially.
