Restricted Ministerial Council Examines National Employment Strategy

A restricted ministerial council, chaired by Head of Government, Kamel Maddouri, was held yesterday, March 12, 2025, at the Kasbah to discuss the axes of the national employment strategy. This plan aims to address the challenges of the labor market, particularly in terms of job creation, integration of the informal sector, and improvement of working conditions.

During the meeting, the Head of Government emphasized that employment is a national priority and a constitutional right, requiring adapted measures to ensure opportunities based on competence and equity. He stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed's recommendations to valorize work and ensure equal access to employment.

The government intends to boost the economic dynamic to stimulate investment and improve the business climate, while developing projects with high job creation potential. The modernization of the labor market will involve a better match between training and business needs, as well as the exploitation of opportunities related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training presented the progress of the strategy update and the main lines of its execution plan. He also proposed measures to improve governance in the sector, encourage entrepreneurship, and support job seekers in their professional integration.

Following the discussions, the council recommended enriching the strategic document by integrating the observations of concerned ministers and adopting a participatory approach involving all labor market stakeholders. The national steering committee will resume its work to finalize the strategy, which will be submitted to a ministerial council for approval soon.
