Tunisia Ranked as Most Peaceful Country in the Maghreb Region
According to the latest "Global Peace Index", Tunisia is considered the most peaceful country in the Maghreb region.
This index is established by The Economist magazine, taking into account various factors to evaluate countries, including:
- Level of internal violence and crime
- International relations of countries
In the Mena region ranking, Tunisia ranks 6th, while globally, it ranks 73rd.
Tunisia's relatively high ranking demonstrates that despite facing economic, social, and political challenges in recent years, the country remains relatively stable.
Peace is a crucial factor, especially in the Mena region, which is considered the most fragile region in the world after sub-Saharan Africa, according to the book "Middle East and North Africa Investment Policy Perspectives" (2021). Therefore, Tunisia's reputation as a peaceful country will help attract more foreign investments, which are desperately needed for the country's development.
