Tunisia Now Boasts Four Entrepreneurial Universities Accredited by NCEE
Tunisia now has four universities accredited by the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education (NCEE). The Universities of Carthage, Jendouba, and Sousse have officially joined the University of La Manouba, a pioneer in the region and in Africa since 2024.
A Label Earned Through a Demanding Process
NCEE accreditation is not an administrative label. It sanctions a real transformation: aligning training with local economic needs, developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and involving students in creating value. The three universities followed a rigorous evaluation process before obtaining recognition for a period of three years.
The Event Took Place Within the Framework of Tunisian-British Cooperation
The event was part of the Tunisian-British Commission for Cooperation in Higher Education, with the support of the British Council Tunisia and the UK Embassy. Institutional representatives from both countries, university presidents, and directors of student-entrepreneur hubs were gathered for the occasion.
"Change is Never Accomplished Alone"
The Director-General of NCEE opened the presentations by reminding everyone that there is no single model for an entrepreneurial university. Each institution expresses this label in its own way, according to its local context. What matters is the ability to connect the university to its economic and social environment, support innovation, and create concrete opportunities for students.
Looking to the Future
Regarding the future, she mentioned ambitions for international cooperation: student enterprise clinics, shared innovation centers, and partnerships around health and sustainable development. She concluded: "Significant change is never accomplished alone. It is born from collaboration and the willingness to adapt. This is not just a label — it's a long-term journey."
"A University That Reinvents Itself"
Among the testimonials from the winning universities, the one from the President of the University of Jendouba stood out. "We are not just celebrating an accreditation. We are celebrating the choice of a university that reinvents itself," said Hichem Sebai.
The University of Jendouba's Transformation
The University of Jendouba, located in northwest Tunisia, has been undergoing a profound transformation since February 2024, validated by its University Council. Its vision is to be an international university with local roots, serving the economic, social, and environmental development of its region.
Concrete Results
The results are concrete: ISO 9001, ISO 21001, and ISO 14001 certifications, accreditation of several courses, and an entrepreneurial ecosystem supported by its Student-Entrepreneur Hub, LUBIGE. He concluded: "A university, regardless of its location, can become a hub of excellence. We are not just training graduates — we are training women and men who can innovate and transform the world around them."
