Tunisia Signs Contract for 300 New Buses
A ceremony was held this Friday, December 13, 2024, at the headquarters of the Tunisian Transportation Company (TRANSTU), officially launching a partnership with Chinese manufacturer King Long for an estimated 152 million dinars. The delivery of these vehicles is expected in the near future.
This acquisition is part of the state's priorities to revitalize the public transportation sector. An initiative driven by the President of the Republic, who has emphasized the need to accelerate the importation of buses and metro trains to alleviate the difficulties faced by citizens in their daily commutes. In parallel, TRANSTU is working to strengthen the quality of its urban rail transportation network. Currently, a tender document for the acquisition of new metro trains is being prepared, with the call for bids expected to be launched soon, pursuing the ambition of a comprehensive and sustainable sector reform.
