Tunisian Tourism Promotion: Minister Tekaya Chairs Meeting to Boost International Participation
On October 7, 2024, a working session dedicated to promoting Tunisian tourism was chaired by Minister of Tourism Sofiane Tekaya.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT), ministry officials, and relevant administration heads.
The primary objective of this session was to assess Tunisia's participation in international tourism events and major cultural and sporting events held on Tunisian soil.
During the meeting, promotional activities carried out by the ONTT until September 30, 2024, were presented. Tunisia has participated in 54 international tourism fairs and exhibitions, while organizing around 120 press trips for foreign media and over 70 excursions for travel agencies and international partners.
Minister Tekaya emphasized the importance of modernizing the country's promotional methods and adopting digital communication tools. He also stressed the need to involve Tunisian and foreign influencers and content creators in developing promotional programs on social media.
On the same occasion, the minister called for better coordination with Tunisian diplomatic missions abroad and sector professionals, as well as the engagement of Tunisians living abroad.
