Energy Outlook: National Production Dominates Primary Energy Resources

According to a recent report titled "Energy Outlook," the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy reveals that primary energy resources are still dominated by national production of oil and gas, which together account for 72% of total primary energy resources. In contrast, the share of renewable electricity (including STEG, private, and self-production) remains modest, representing only 2% of primary resources.

Gaz Transit Revenue Sees 2% Decline

The revenue from the transit of Algerian gas has decreased by 2% as of March 2024 compared to March 2023.

Natural Gas Demand Drops by 11%

The demand for natural gas has decreased by 11% due to the limitation of Algerian gas purchases. To meet the total national electricity demand, STEG has turned to importing electricity.
