Ministry of Health Announces Major Breakthrough in Cardiology in Tunisia
The Ministry of Health announced a significant breakthrough in the field of cardiology in Tunisia yesterday, February 6.
In fact, the first complex ablations were successfully performed at the cardiology department of Sahloul Hospital using the Rythmia system. This medical achievement, which took place last Tuesday, marks a turning point for the country in a rare and specialized sector.
According to the statement published on the Ministry's Facebook page, this success testifies to the excellence of Tunisian skills and highlights the country's determination to ensure medical autonomy, with the goal of improving the quality of life for patients suffering from complex cardiac disorders. This achievement reinforces the progress made in the healthcare sector in Tunisia.
The procedures were led by Professor Elyes Naffati, head of the cardiovascular surgery department, and Professor Walid Naïja, head of the anesthesiology and intensive care department. After unsuccessful attempts with other mapping systems, these ablations were crowned with success.
