European Union to Release €54 Million in Funding to Tunisia for Two Cooperation Programs

The European Union has announced the imminent disbursement of €54 million to Tunisia as part of two cooperation programs. According to an official statement, this amount represents the remaining funding already agreed upon between the two parties for the Ecological Transition Program (OTE) and the Economic Governance Support Program (PAGE). This decision reflects the EU's commitment to supporting ongoing reforms in Tunisia and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

This EU funding is part of the visit of Stefano Sannino, recently appointed as the head of the Middle East, North Africa, and Gulf Directorate-General (DG MENA), who traveled to Tunis from February 26 to 28, 2025.

In fact, his trip aimed to exchange with Tunisian authorities on the Tunisian-European partnership and explore cooperation prospects for the 2025-2027 period. This visit also marked the launch of consultations on the new Mediterranean Pact, a project the European Commission plans to adopt in 2025 to address common challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
