Tunisia Sees Increase in Remittances and Tourism Revenue

The latest figures published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) reveal an increase in remittances from the diaspora and tourism revenue.

These two sources of income have enabled the combined revenue from tourism and remittances to exceed the 8 billion dinar mark, reaching 8.2 billion dinars as of July 31, 2024.

In fact, remittances from the Tunisian diaspora have recorded a 3% increase, reaching 4.49 billion dinars, compared to 4.32 billion dinars during the same period last year. This increase testifies to the ongoing support of Tunisians abroad for their country of origin.

On the other hand, the tourism sector has also had a strong performance, with a 6.39% increase in revenue. Tourism earnings have thus risen to 3.75 billion dinars, compared to 3.53 billion dinars during the same period last year.

This performance reflects the resilience and progressive recovery of key sectors of the Tunisian economy.
