Summer Hours for Pharmacies in Tunisia

The National Council of the Order of Pharmacists of Tunisia (Cnopt) has announced the implementation of summer hours for retail pharmacies, effective June 1, 2026, until August 31, 2026, across the entire Tunisian territory.

Background

In a notice published on May 25, 2026, the Cnopt recalled that this organization is in accordance with the decree of the Ministry of Health of January 6, 1990, which sets the operating hours of pharmacies during the summer period.

Pharmacy Hours

The following hours will apply:

  • Monday to Friday:
    • Daytime pharmacies (Category A): 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    • On-call pharmacies (Category A): continuous service from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
    • Nighttime pharmacies (Category B): 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM the next day
  • Saturdays:
    • Category A pharmacies: 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM
    • On-call pharmacies: continuous service from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
    • Nighttime pharmacies (Category B): unchanged hours
  • Sundays and holidays:
    • Only on-call pharmacies will be open
    • Category A pharmacies: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
    • Category B pharmacies: 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM the next day

Obligations for Pharmacies

The Cnopt emphasizes the obligation for each pharmacy to clearly display its opening hours and the updated list of on-call pharmacies. This measure aims to facilitate citizens' access to pharmaceutical services, particularly during the summer season.

Additional Recommendations

The Order of Pharmacists also reminds that on-call duty schedules are set by the competent regional councils and recommends using the "Apothicaire" platform for editing on-call schedules.

Objective

Through this reminder, the Cnopt aims to ensure the continuity of pharmaceutical care and guarantee better organization of the service during the summer period.
