Salary Increase for Non-Agricultural Sector Workers in Tunisia
The Ministry of Social Affairs has confirmed a series of increases to the guaranteed minimum wage (SMIG) for non-agricultural sector employees, as part of the 2026 finance law. These measures aim to strengthen purchasing power and ensure fair compensation for Tunisian workers.
According to the ministry's response to MP Nour El Houda Sbaiti, the SMIG has already benefited from two successive increases since Decree No. 419 of July 9, 2024, namely:
- May 2024: a 7% increase with retroactive effect
- January 2025: a new 7.5% increase
These revisions apply to both full-time workers (48 hours/week) and part-time workers (40 hours/week). For a full-time employee, the SMIG reaches 528,320 DT per month, while part-time workers will receive 448,238 DT. In addition to these amounts, two bonuses are added: a transportation allowance of 36,112 DT and an attendance bonus of 2,080 DT.
