"Automotive Smart City" Project to Boost Car Component Exports to 13.5 Billion Dinars by 2027

The "Automotive Smart City" project is expected to increase car component exports to 13.5 billion dinars by 2027 and create 150,000 jobs in the coming years, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy on Tuesday, March 4.

During the second meeting of the steering committee in charge of this project, Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub highlighted the strategic importance of the project, which aligns with the national strategy for industry and innovation, as well as the competitiveness pact for the automotive component and equipment sector by 2027.

According to the minister, the project has already achieved positive results, notably by positioning Tunisian car component exports as second in Africa.

The "Automotive Smart City" project is part of the sectoral competitiveness pact, which aims to attract major investments in the manufacturing of electric and smart vehicles, worth $300 million.
