Arab Financial Forum for Achariqah Prize Kicks Off in Tunis, Focusing on Digital Financial Technologies

The second Arab Financial Forum for the Achariqah Prize took place on Thursday in Tunis and will continue until Friday, with a focus on the impact of digital financial technologies on the development of this sector.

This event, which brings together experts from the region, aims to share knowledge and practices around digital innovations applied to public finances.

Rached El Kasmi, Secretary-General of the prize, highlighted the importance of these technologies in ensuring transparency in transactions, while lamenting that several Arab countries are still lagging behind in their adoption.

On the other hand, many states, beyond the Arab world, have already taken the step towards gradually abandoning cash and paper, relying on these digital tools to modernize their financial systems.

Zouheir Atallah, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance, took the opportunity to discuss the ongoing reforms in Tunisia, focused on modernizing public administration.

The goal, according to him, is to strengthen governance and increase transparency, particularly through a more advanced digital transition and improvement of information systems.

These efforts also aim to optimize the management of public resources, while ensuring better services to citizens and economic actors in the country.
