Tunisian Transportation Company Launches International Tender for High-Quality Metro Trains
The Tunisian Transportation Company launched an international tender on Thursday, May 15, 2025, to acquire 30 new high-quality metro trains that conform to international standards for urban rail transportation.
This initiative is part of a modernization plan for the collective transportation network, aiming to improve user experience and enhance the fleet's capacity. The announcement was made a few days earlier by the Minister of Transportation, Rached Amari, during a plenary session at the People's Representatives Assembly. He emphasized the importance of gathering the necessary conditions to accelerate the implementation of this operation.
Each 45-meter-long train will offer superior to that of the current models, to the growing needs, particularly in high-density areas. The trains will be bidirectional, equipped with air conditioning and video surveillance systems, and will include reserved spaces for people with specific needs.
