Tunisia: A Prime Investment Destination for Germany and Beyond

Tunisia is considered a prime investment destination for several countries, thanks to its numerous advantages. In this regard, Germany ranks 4th among the top investing countries in Tunisia in 2023, with a total investment of 237.89 million Tunisian dinars (TND).

According to the annual survey by the Tunisian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Tunisia), this positive trend is expected to continue in 2024, with a 68.9% increase in declared investments in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.

This dynamic is also reflected in the creation of numerous job opportunities, with 9,000 new jobs generated in the first three months of 2024.

German presence in Tunisia is also significant, with 300 German-participated companies operating in the country, employing over 90,000 people. These companies actively contribute to stimulating Tunisia's economic growth, particularly in key sectors such as industry, information and communication technologies (ICT), and agri-food.

Here are the top 3 factors that explain Tunisia's attractiveness to German investors, according to the President and General Manager of AHK:

Geographical Proximity to Europe

Tunisia offers direct access to the European market, a significant advantage for German companies looking to export their products and services.

Qualified and Available Workforce

Tunisia has a young and qualified workforce, a major asset for companies seeking talent.

Competitive Production and Service Costs

Tunisia offers competitive production and service costs compared to other European and North African countries.

These advantages make Tunisia an attractive destination for German investors, and its economy is expected to continue growing in the coming years.
