The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), an affiliate of the African Development Bank Group, has officially launched its operations in Tunisia. This initiative marks the establishment of a regional center aimed at strengthening legal and technical expertise in the country, as reported by the TAP agency.

The announcement was made during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, and the ALSF's Legal Counsel and Regional Coordinator for North and Central Africa, Mariame Bah. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director-General of the African Development Bank's regional office in Tunisia, Malinne Blomberg, according to information reported by the TAP agency.

About the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF)

Based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the ALSF is an international organization hosted by the African Development Bank. Its mission is to provide legal support and technical assistance to African countries. The organization's interventions focus on:

  • Structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions
  • Managing disputes with creditors
  • Other sovereign operations

The ALSF also develops tools and programs aimed at strengthening legal skills and improving knowledge sharing in these areas.

During the meeting, Mariame Bah indicated that the ALSF is ready to examine Tunisia's requests for technical assistance and consulting services. This commitment aims to support the country in various files requiring specialized legal expertise.
