Tunisia and Kenya Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

In a context where African unity is becoming increasingly important, and governments and citizens of the Global South are becoming aware of the exploitative nature of the current economic model, Tunisian Head of Government Ahmed Hachani met with the President of Kenya today on the sidelines of the first Korea-Africa Summit.

This meeting provided an opportunity for the Head of Government to express Tunisia's willingness to develop cooperation with Kenya in various fields such as higher education, health, and digitalization.

He also highlighted that the upcoming holding of the first joint commission between the two African nations would be an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation and create a sustainable economic dynamic.

For his part, the President of Kenya expressed his aspiration to elevate the level of cooperation with Tunisia in all fields. He confirmed his country's commitment to opening a Kenyan embassy in Tunisia, similar to the Tunisian embassy opened in Kenya since 2017, and emphasized the importance of increased consultation and coordination between the two countries within the African Union to address common issues, such as combating climate change.

It is worth noting that Tunisia is a founding member of the African Union and has always claimed its belonging to the Arab world and Africa.
