Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed has decided to relieve Fatma Thabet Chiboub of her duties as head of the Department of Industry, Mines, and Energy. Following this decision, he has tasked Salah Zouari with assuming interim leadership of the ministry, in addition to his current responsibilities.
Decision Announced After Meeting at Carthage Palace
This decision was announced after a meeting held on April 27, 2026, at the Carthage Palace, in the presence of the head of government and several members of the executive branch. The meeting is part of a series of meetings focused on monitoring the implementation of social measures provided for by the 2026 finance law, including wage increases in the public and private sectors, as well as retirement pensions for the period 2026-2028.
