Tunisia Launches 3rd Phase of "Kaizen" Technical Cooperation Program with Japan

The 3rd phase of the Tunisian-Japanese technical cooperation program "Kaizen" was launched today, August 26, according to a statement from the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.

This program, focused on improving quality and productivity, aims to strengthen professional skills and knowledge in various economic sectors across the country.

During a meeting held at the ministry's headquarters, Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub welcomed a team of experts from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The meeting was also attended by the chief of staff and several senior officials from the ministry.

The 3rd phase of this program, scheduled to last four years, will focus on establishing quality systems conforming to international standards, training national skills, and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement of production systems. The ultimate goal is to make Tunisia a reference country in Africa in this field.

In previous phases, the "Kaizen" program provided technical support to 200 industrial enterprises, resulting in a productivity improvement of over 65%.

Additionally, 23 Tunisian experts benefited from theoretical and practical training in Tunisia and Japan.
