Tunisia and Italy Sign New Cooperation Agreement to Facilitate Integration of Tunisian Graduates into Italian Job Market

Tunisia and Italy have concluded a new cooperation agreement aimed at facilitating the integration of young Tunisian graduates into the Italian job market. The framework agreement, signed on Monday at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, brought together Hatem Dahman, Director General of the Tunisian Agency for Employment and Independent Work (Aneti), Ilyes Cherif, Director General of the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training (Atfp), and the President of the Italian organization Ethos Ets.

The five-year partnership is based on three axes: employment, vocational training, and regulated migration. It aims to integrate Tunisian graduates into specialized sectors in Italy, particularly in welding and metal construction. Initially, 150 young people will benefit from professional opportunities offered by Italian companies, with the possibility of extending the program to other sectors according to market needs.

The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaouad, highlighted the importance of this agreement in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He emphasized the need to adapt Tunisian training to the requirements of Italian employers and encouraged young people to seize these opportunities.

A key aspect of the agreement lies in the nature of the contracts offered by Italian companies, which will be of indefinite duration. Before taking up their duties, Tunisian workers will undergo preparatory training, including language learning and cultural and professional sensitization to Italy.

Ultimately, the goal is to train 5,000 young Tunisians to meet the employment needs of the Italian and Tunisian markets in the commerce and services sectors. This initiative is part of a bilateral cooperation dynamic aimed at ensuring stable and sustainable professional integration.
