Guinean Delegation Visits Tunisia to Strengthen Industrial Collaboration

A Guinean delegation, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Pilot Center for Industrial Technologies (CPTI), visited Tunisia from September 1 to 4 to conduct a study tour at the Technical Center for Mechanical and Electrical Industries (CETIME).

This initiative is part of the Support for Industrial Development and SME Resilience Project (PADIRPME), funded by the African Development Bank. The goal extends beyond a standard protocol visit; it aims to establish a long-term collaboration that helps CPTI enhance its technical capabilities and better tailor its services to the concrete needs of Guinean businesses.

Exportable Expertise from Tunisian Technical Centers

On the technical front, the delegation explored CETIME’s resources in testing, metrology, and expertise. They also examined the methods and tools used to support SMEs in their investment, modernization, and performance improvement projects. Discussions further covered institutional aspects, including governance, service organization, technical assistance for businesses, and skills development.

This South-South cooperation highlights a broader trend: Tunisian technical centers, leveraging decades of experience in industrial support, are positioning themselves as regional expertise providers. This exportable know-how could open new service opportunities for Tunisian firms specializing in engineering and industrial consulting in West Africa.
