The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries has set the grain acceptance prices for the 2026 harvest. This decision comes as part of the preparations for the harvesting and collection season.
Grain Prices
- Hard wheat is set at 140 dinars per quintal, including a 40-dinar bonus for rapid delivery.
- Soft wheat is set at 110 dinars per quintal, with a 30-dinar bonus.
- Barley and triticale are set at 90 dinars per quintal, with a 25-dinar bonus.
Deadline for Rapid Delivery Bonus
The ministry has set July 15, 2026, as the deadline to benefit from the rapid delivery bonus for barley and triticale. The bonus will be paid by August 31, 2026, at the latest.
2026 Grain Campaign
The 2026 grain campaign is taking place in a context of production recovery. The 2025 harvest reached nearly 20 million quintals, according to the Ministry of Agriculture's data. The production had recorded around 11.8 million quintals collected mid-season in 2025 and then progressed throughout the season.
Tunisia's Grain Production
Tunisia mainly produces hard wheat in the northern and northwestern regions. The country relies on imports for soft wheat, which is used for bread production.
Strategic Importance of the Grain Sector
The grain sector remains strategic for the country's food security. The state uses acceptance prices to stabilize the market and support farmers.
