2024 HelloSafe Prosperity Index Reveals Disparities in the Maghreb Region

The 2024 edition of the HelloSafe Prosperity Index, a global barometer measuring the economic prosperity of 186 countries, reveals a ranking that highlights the disparities within the Maghreb region.

This index is based on six key criteria:

  • GDP per capita

At the top of the Maghreb region, Algeria stands out with a score of 40.36 points, also ranking third at the African level. This performance is supported by relative macroeconomic stability and solid human development indicators.

Tunisia, on the other hand, ranks second in the Maghreb region and sixth at the African level. This ranking reflects the country's efforts in economic development, despite the challenges it faces.

Morocco comes in third among Maghreb nations, occupying the eighth position in the African ranking with a score of 30.02 points.
