Digitalization of Administrative Services for Tunisians Abroad
As part of the modernization of administrative services for Tunisians living abroad, a set of new digital measures has been adopted to simplify and accelerate procedures related to travel documents and vehicle registration.
Online Passport Renewal and Appointment Scheduling
It will now be possible to submit online applications for passport renewal, whether individual or family, through the General Directorate of Border Police and Foreigners. Users will also be able to pay the required fees and schedule appointments, either individual or collective.
Digitalization of Services on Board Ships
In line with this digitalization effort, specific devices will be installed on board ships, allowing passengers to perform the same procedures, including passport renewal and payment of required fees. A mobile digital platform will be deployed on board the "Carthage" and "Tanit" ships, enabling travelers to fill out passport application forms and pay the fiscal stamp before boarding, reducing delays and administrative constraints.
Electronic Travel Stamp and Vehicle Registration
The electronic travel stamp service will be generalized, and a dedicated application will be introduced to simplify vehicle registration procedures for Tunisians living abroad. The application will offer a modernized interface for obtaining and renewing circulation certificates (diptyque) online, with simplified conditions and reduced deadlines. The platform will also allow for the introduction and tracking of administrative authorization requests, as well as the renewal or correction of circulation documents.
New Measures for Vehicle Registration and Authorization
The new measures include the declaration of the date of final return, the completion of exit procedures without a vehicle, and the possibility of requesting a driving authorization for vehicles registered in the "TN" series by a third party. The system also provides for the acceleration of customs exemption requests and the introduction of services for remote subscription to insurance and payment of fees by international bank cards.
Goals of the Reform
Through these reforms, the authorities aim to strengthen the digitalization of public services and improve the administrative experience of Tunisians living abroad, by reducing travel, delays, and the complexity of procedures.
