Ministry of Industry Approves New Industrial Upgrade Projects

The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy announced on Friday, September 19, the approval of four new files under the Industrial Upgrade Program for Enterprises. The decision was made during a meeting of the advisory committee, chaired by Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub, in the presence of officials from the UTICA, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and the Central Bank of Tunisia.

Approved Projects

These projects concern companies active in the following sectors:

  • Agro-food
  • Textile-clothing
  • Mechanical and electrical industries
  • Other diverse branches

The total investments for these projects exceed 110 million dinars, supported by subsidies of approximately 15 million dinars.

Additional Approvals

The Minister also validated the conclusions of the program's restricted commission, held on September 17. The commission had agreed to:

  • 33 additional files, representing nearly 53 million dinars in investments and estimated subsidies of 8.1 million dinars
  • 66 projects related to priority technological investments, totaling 4.6 million dinars, including 2 million dinars in subsidies

Sustainability Initiatives

In a perspective of sustainability, the Ministry has also decided to provide specific incentives, through the Fund for the Development of Industrial Competitiveness, to companies that install industrial wastewater treatment stations. This measure aims to encourage industries to integrate environmental management solutions into their development plans.
