Tunisia's Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Attracts Over 9,000 Visitors in First Week

Since its opening, the Tunisia Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka has already welcomed over 9,000 visitors, announced Mourad Ben Hassine, Tunisia's Commissioner General for this global event, which takes place from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

According to Ben Hassine, the Tunisian pavilion has sparked great interest due to its original design, conceived in collaboration between the Order of Architects of Tunisia and a Tunisian architect based in Japan. This attraction testifies to the success of Tunisia's participation in this international event.

He highlighted that this six-month presence constitutes an opportunity to consolidate bilateral relations between Tunisia and Japan, develop economic partnerships with numerous countries, and promote Tunisia as a tourist destination.

Under the theme "Designing the Society of the Future, Imagining Our Life Tomorrow," Expo 2025 Osaka expects to welcome over 30 million visitors. The event is being held on the artificial island of Yumeshima in the Kansai region of Japan, with the participation of 159 countries.

The inauguration of the Tunisian pavilion took place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the presence of Tunisia's Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Chafra. The public can also discover the pavilion remotely, thanks to a device installed at the headquarters of the Centre for Export Promotion (CEPEX), which allows for a virtual visit via an interactive telescope.

As part of this exhibition, several highlights are planned to showcase Tunisia: a national day on August 13 to celebrate Tunisian Women's Day, an economic day on August 18 focusing on the country's economic assets, as well as a cultural week and a tourist week scheduled for September.

Tunisia's participation is part of a historical tradition of presence on the great international stages, from the London Exhibition in 1851 to Expo Dubai 2020.
