Nineteen Tunisian Industrial Companies and Startups Obtain Authorized Economic Operator Status

Nineteen Tunisian industrial companies and startups have recently obtained the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). This label is issued by the General Directorate of Customs and reinforces their position in external trade.

Key Benefits of AEO Status

With these new attributions, Tunisia now has a total of 221 certified companies since the program's launch in 2010, including 126 industrial companies. The companies in question operate in various sectors, such as:

  • Automotive components
  • Textiles and clothing
  • Leather and footwear
  • Industry-related services

These companies will now benefit from simplified customs procedures, faster clearance, and the ability to import goods without systematic physical inspections. Declarations will be routed through the "green channel," resulting in significant time savings and increased competitiveness.

AEO Status: A Symbol of Trust

The AEO status is based on trust and is granted to companies that comply with regulations, technical standards, and customs rules. It is aligned with the standards of the World Customs Organization and serves as a strong signal to international partners.

Government Support for Industrial Companies

During an event held on February 12 at the General Directorate of Customs, the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, highlighted the importance of this mechanism. The objective is clear: to support companies, facilitate trade, and open up new export markets.

Digitalization of Services

The digitalization of services related to technical files and tax benefits is also progressing, with reduced deadlines and simplified procedures.

AEO Status: A Strategic Tool for Tunisian Industry

The AEO status has become a strategic tool for the Tunisian industry, reinforcing trust, improving logistics, and supporting export growth.
